National Voting Rights Act 2.0

Guaranteeing Universal Access to Voting

Purpose: Strengthen voting rights by implementing measures to ensure equal access to the ballot for all citizens.

  1. Provisions:

    • Automatic voter registration for all eligible citizens at age 18.

    • Guarantee the right to vote for all citizens, including those who have completed prison sentences, ensuring no one is permanently disenfranchised due to past incarceration.

    • Eliminate the requirement for voters to register under a political party, allowing all citizens to participate in all primary elections, regardless of party affiliation.

    • Make Election Day a national holiday to increase voter turnout.

    • Mandate standardized early voting periods and mail-in voting in all states.

    • Ban partisan gerrymandering by requiring independent, nonpartisan redistricting commissions.

    • Prohibit voter ID laws that disproportionately disenfranchise marginalized communities.
